Tuition Assistance

Tuition Assistance is available at Kinderhaus through several routes depending on the age of your child and your family’s financial situation. Income is determined by your most recent tax return. Application information is available at the bottom of this webpage.

HAWC

This grant is for income-qualifying 3 year olds.  Up to full tuition assistance is available depending on family income. Applications submitted prior to September 1 are guaranteed funding; those submitted after will be place on a wait list.

Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program Grant

This grant provides free tuition for all four year olds attending Kinderhaus at least 3 mornings/week.  The requires that (1) children must turn four years old by September 15th and (2) be enrolled in a participating program that meets at least 10 hours or more each week. Kinderhaus is an eligible participating program. Four year olds attending Kinderhaus more than 3 mornings a week will have additional tuition responsibility. No application necessary–all four year olds are automatically enrolled.

KinderGrant

KinderGrant is an in-house scholarship/grant prioritized for qualifying families based on conditions below.  Application due May 15th or upon admittance to program.

  1. 5 and 6-year old children qualifying using HAWC criteria
    Up to $100/month assistance for 5 day program, $60/month for 3 day program, and $40/month assistance for 2 day program. Assistance will be divided equally among qualifying families.
  2. 3, 5, and 6 year old children qualifying using HAWK-I criteria
    In the event that funding exists following distribution outlined in #1 above, remaining funding up to $100/month assistance for 5 day program, $60/month for 3 day program, and $40/month for 2 day program, divided equally among qualifying families.
  3. 4-year old children qualifying using HAWC criteria
    In the event that funding exists following distribution outlined in #1 and #2 above, remaining funding up to $100/month assistance for 5 day program, divided equally among qualifying families.
  4. 4-year old children qualifying using HAWK-I criteria
    In the event that funding exists following distribution outlined in #1, #2, and #3 above, remaining funding up to $100/month assistance for 5 day program, divided equally among qualifying families.
  5. 3-6 year olds regardless of family income.

Childcare Assistance

Funding is available through the Department of Human Services for families meeting DHS requirements. This assistance requires separate application through DHS. Kinderhaus provides a limited number of placements receiving Childcare Assistance.
